Canvas Basics: Part 1 is part of a two-part series that provides a brief overview of how to use essential tools in Canvas to create a well-developed Canvas course. In Canvas Basics: Part 1, the topics covered are: Accessing and Navigating Canvas, Canvas Best Practices, Modules, Home Pages, Announcements, Course Settings, Syllabus, Publishing a Course, and Canvas Inbox.
Canvas Basics: Part 2 is the second in a two-part series that provides a brief overview of how to use essential tools in Canvas to create a well-developed Canvas course. In Canvas Basics: Part 2, the topics covered are: Rich Content Editor, Assignments Overview, Discussions Overview, Gradebook Overview, SpeedGrader Overview.
In Canvas User Settings and Calendar, attendees will learn how to personalize their Canvas Profile with a bio and photo. Attendees will also learn how to manage notification settings, use the Canvas Calendar to set and manage assignment due dates and to create Appointment Groups for office hours.
In Classic Quizzes in Canvas, attendees will learn how to create and grade Classic Quizzes in Canvas, as well as manage and moderate quizzes for extra attempts and extra time. The session will also introduce the topics of Question Banks and Question Groups.
In Assessment and Grading in Canvas, attendees will learn how to create two common assessment types in Canvas: Assignments and Discussions. The session will also take a more in-depth look into Assignment Groups, Weighted Grades, the Canvas Gradebook, and SpeedGrader.
Advanced Topics in Assessment and Grading will address some of the more advanced assessment and grading tools in Canvas. Topics covered include: Extra Credit, Rubrics, Turnitin, Groups and Group Work, and Peer Review.
